what JOBS are available to Emergency First Responders for the year off before med school?

Hey,
I'm a pre-med student and I have an year off before attending medical school.
I just recently took the Emergency First Responder course (which precedes the EMT course) and attained its certification.
Now, I need a job for this upcoming year.
On that note, what jobs are available upon completion of this course?
Should I go to hospitals and/or Ambulance companies and ask if they are looking for an EMR (Emergency Medical Responder)?
What other options are available?
Thanks

btw: I'm also taking the EMT course this upcoming fall.

I am a senior pre-med student as well as a fire captain and EMT-I. Unfortunately as a medical first responder there are not many jobs that you qualify for. You will have many more job opps after you get your EMT. MFRs simply dont have very many clinical skills within their scope of practice. If you are interested in doing something with your MFR license immediately you can check with your local fire department. If they have a volunteer program they may bring you on as a first responder (that is if they respond to med calls in your area). Once you get your EMT you will qualify for jobs in and outside the hospital ER Tech and EMT among the most popular. Best of Luck!
