Tough undergradute currilculum and a sub-par GPA, where to go from here?

I am a rising Senior at the University of Rochester. I choose Biomedical engineering since it sounded interesting, but has put a serious damper on my GPA. I am sitting around a 3.1(3.2 with summer classes) with a ~3.5-3.6 science GPA. I have been throwing up the idea of doing an MPH program (which I was accepted into) or retaking some classes that I didn't do so well on to raise my GPA and study for the MCATS. Should I throw away my MPH year and retake (chem 1(C)---happened during semester of surgery, and physics 1(B-)  -----same)

Tough Decisions and my pre-med adviser is as useless as a piece of wood! Thanks in advance!

You picked a tough major and I am sure medical schools would consider that when looking at your application. Further, your science GPA is good, which shows that you can do the work in the courses you really need.

I would try and make your application look better by doing something in between Medical School. The MPH program would be a great example of this, or you could just pursue a career in Public health.

I would not re-take a course that I got a B- in, but re-taking a course because of a C is something I would put much thought into. You should consider the time and money you would put into the course. Could you be doing something more productive with that time or money?
