Would a mildly autistic person be able to survive as a pharmacist?

Hi, I have Asperger's syndrome and as a result have to be very cautious abut what career I chose. I have poor social skills but they're not atrocious. I can talk to people, I'm just very awkward. How strong do ones social skills need to be in order to be a competent pharmacist?

There are many career paths that a pharmacist can take.  Some career paths require more social skills than others.  For example, if you are interested in working in a community pharmacy or as an ambulatory care pharmacist, strong social skills are a must.  Conversely, jobs that do not require as much interaction with people include verifying prescriptions at a mail order company or research.  Having said that, most pharmacy school programs place a strong emphasis on effective communication and demonstrating competence is this area is typically required.
