First off, I go to UT
Second off, I really don't know what to do. Here are my grades:

Freshman Fall:
Psychology: B
Calculus: C
Bio I: B+
Chem 1: B

Freshman Spring:
Biological Psychology: A-
Chem 2: A-
Chem lab: A-
Art History: A-
Bio 2: B

Sophomore Fall
Organic Chemistry: B
Biology Lab: B
Physics Lab: B+
Medical Terminology: A
Genetics: A
Physics: A

Sophomore Spring
Ochem II: C
Physics II: B
Physics Lab: B
Ochem Lab: B
Neuro Physiology: A

Taken at community college (doesn't factor into my GPA):
Govt 1: A
Govt 2: A

Extra credits:
-research
-started my own organization called Out Against Abuse combating domestic violence in the southasian community
-shadowed a neurosurgeon for 75+ hours (probably going to add on to that)
-volunteered at kids summer program
-volunteered at hospice

I am not an URM. My GPA after this horrible semester stands at a 3.2......Every other thread talks about how people won't get into medical school with low GPAs, etc, but after next year if I bring mine up to 3.4/3.5 should I just wait until senior year to apply? I haven't taken my MCAT yet. Thanks for your time!

Please do apply!

If you had a job during those two years, state it in your personal statement. Look at newer medical schools and those that are not the most competitive if you are worried. It doesn't mean you can't get into those school although I think looking at state schools might not be a bad idea.

I like your extra cir. stuff!

Study and get above a 30 and you'll be fine.

You need to read the Underdog acceptance threads my friend... LOTS of people get into med school with those stats... show improvement, do what it takes and you'll get there...

you have really good ECs- ones that would look great for any applicant. As for your grades, you got in A in some tough classes, and although B's and especially a C isn't great, that looks like the semester from hell, and I believe schools that are taking an in depth look at you for your ECs will notice. Just keep going, rock the MCAT and DEFINITELY apply.

You have great extracurrics and from the classes you listed, a decent GPA.  Don't worry too much about one bad semester.  It looks like you have gotten what I consider to be the toughest/worst classes out of the way. Take some more science classes, get some A-'s or As, and you will be just fine.  A good MCAT score (30+) will also go a long way and show that the C grades don't necessarily reflect how well you understand the sciences.   Personally, if I was an admissions counselor, or, more importantly, a patient, I would definitely prefer someone with enough heart to volunteer at hospice than someone who aced o chem.  But of course, I am neither, just a wishful applicant...
Don't give up!!!!
